As a USCF and OBRA member club, BBC has long understood the importance of elevating the sport of bicycle racing. From the training of riders new to racing, to promoting elite-level multi-day events, BBC has acted as a responsible partner with our community and our sponsors.

BBC's Mt Hood Loop Cycling Classic received daily national media attention. In 1988 this race hosted and featured the U.S. Olympic Cycling Team and was covered by the local ABC affiliate. BBC promoted the 1990 and '91 Tour DeVine Masters Cycling Classic in Oregon's wine country. It was the Northwest's first-ever all masters race weekend and the United States Cycling Federation Western Regional Masters Road Racing Championship for 1990. This race drew competitors from all over the western United States.

BBC members co-promoted the 1991 Subaru Mayor's Cup Criterium in downtown Portland and arranged for BBC riders to appear on ESPN in a televised special riding through Portland with members of the 1991 Subaru/Montgomery Professional Cycling Team.

BBC promotes the traditional first race of the year in Oregon with the Jack Frost Time Trial in February. A record number of entrants braved the wind and cold to test their early season fitness in 1999.

BBC also promotes the popular Oregon State Games Track Race at Alpenrose Velodrome in July. This event is probably one of the most coveted and hotly contested events on the track, and features track events for all ages and categories.
